ACC welcomes conviction of 51 Chalala house owners

The Anti-Corruption Commission -ACC- is elated with the sentencing of CHARLES LOYANA and his wife SUSAN to three years imprisonment for being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.

ACC Acting Head -Corporate Communications DOROTHY MZUMARA says the commission is happy with the ruling as justice has been adequately served on the couple.

Dr. MZUMARA says Commission hopes that the conviction of the two civil servants will be a deterrent to would be offenders.

She has since warned public officers to take a leaf from the matter by ensuring that public resources entrusted to them by virtue of their positions are utilized in an accountable and transparent manner.
