LOSS OF 130 MW ON NATIONAL GRID

By Chansa Kunda

ZESCO Limited says there may be a variation in adherence to the current load shedding hours owing to a technical failure on one unit.

ZESCO Limited Public Relations Manager Hazel Zulu says because of the technical failure, the power utility has incurred a loss of 130MW of power from the National grid.

Ms. Zulu says the variation in load shedding may persist until the situation is normalized.

She has told ZNBC News in a statement that ZESCO is working round the clock to assess the impact of the deficit.

Ms. Zulu said after the assessment is done, members of the public will be notified on the implications the current deficit will have on the load shedding schedule.

She has since urged the public to continue employing energy efficient initiatives in migrating to the use of power as a way of ensuring it is shared equitably amongst all customers.
