92-Year-Old Lufwanyama Man Murdered by Nephew

A 42 year old man of Kandole Area in Lufwanyama District on the Copperbelt has murdered his 92 year uncle for reasons yet to be known.

Copperbelt Police Chief Charity Katanga said Malubeni Muyoba, 92, of Chombola Village was murdered at his home by his nephew identified as Enten Madeline, 42, of the same village.

Katanga said the incident happened when the suspect went to the deceased’s house and found him sleeping then damaged the door and  entered into the house.

“He hit the deceased on the head with a log and sustained a head injury that deformed the head and died instantly.  After that the suspect threatened to kill whoever comes out to rescue the deceased, but when morning came, he had run away,” she stated.

Katanga said the motive for the killing is not yet established and that the body of the deceased was picked and is lying in Kalulushi Distrct hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

Police have since opened a docket and a manhunt has been launched.
