89 Chipolopolo Counterfeit Replica Jerseys Seized

The Zambia Police Service through its Intellectual Property Unit -IPU- has seized 89 suspected Chipolopolo counterfeit Replica Jerseys in Lusaka’s Kamwala trading area.

The jerseys, valued at over K40,000, were seized from Tich ‘B Investments shop in Lusaka Kamwala area.

And police have arrested the owner of the shop identified as MIKE BWALYA 45 of Silverest area in Chongwe.

BWALYA has since been charged and is expected to appear in court soon.

Following the seizure, both the Zambia Police Service and the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) issued a joint statement on the issue.

In the statement, FAZ Communications Manager SYDNEY MUNGALA, said the association is the rightful holder of the Replica Jerseys branded KoPa.

And Mr HAMOONGA warned all traders, who are deceiving the public by selling counterfeit products to desist from doing so.

Meanwhile, FAZ General Secretary REUBEN KAMAGA has thanked the Zambia Police for having continuously conducted operations to clean up fake replica jerseys.
