800 COPS ASSIGNED TO AU SUMMIT

Over 800 police officers have been deployed to police the upcoming 4th African Union -AU- mid-year coordination meeting, the country will be hosting.

The summit starts this Thursday, July 14 in Lusaka.

Inspector General of Police, LEMMY KAJOBA says his officers are ready for the task.

Mr KAJOBA says the police command has provided everything needed for the officers to ensure safety and security of the visiting dignitaries.

He has also advised the officers to maintain maximum levels of discipline and professionalism as they dispatch their duties.

Mr. KAJOBA was speaking when he addressed the deployed officers at the Lilayi Police College in Lusaka.

Meanwhile, Lilayi Police College Command, PAUL ACHUME has said the officers have been briefed on what they should and should not do, during this period.

Mr ACHUME has said the police command has instilled confidence and guaranteed safety of the public during the summit.
