33 OUT, 11 TO GO

Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya has confirmed that only eleven needles now remain in Richard Zulu’s body.
Richard had 44 needles embedded in his body.
Dr Chilufya said most of the needles in delicate places have been removed.
He disclosed that during the surgery two needles were removed from the neck, two from around the heart, two from the lungs and three from the liver.
Dr Chilufya was speaking today during a media briefing and before visiting Richard in ICU at UTH.
Meanwhile, Dr. Chilufya said that another operation will only be conducted after Richard recovers from the surgery.
He said that the remaining needles and foreign bodies are not in delicate parts.
And President Edgar Lungu has decided to evacuate People’s Party President Mike Mulongoti who is admitted to UTH, to South Africa for specialist treatment.
Meanwhile, Dr Chilufya has assured Lusaka residents who were affected by water contamination in some parts of the city, that the Water is now Safe for consumption.
Dr. Chilufya said that the water has been tested and results show that the contamination is now over.
The Minister was speaking during a joint media briefing with Local Government Minister Vincent Mwale, NWSACO and Lusaka Water and Sewerage management.
He however said that with a multi-sectoral team, they will continue to conduct routine tests on water.
