3 Luapula Teachers Dismissed Over Sex Abuse Cases

Three teachers have been dismissed in Luapula province for sexually abusing students.

The move comes at a time when sex scandals in school have come in focus following an alert by an alleged victim at Kasama Girls that has led to the suspension of three teachers and a guard.

Teaching Service Commission Chairperson Jennipher Chiwela said the three teachers have been dismissed after their sexual acts at a named school in Chiengi came to the attention of the authorities.

Chiwela said that the trend was worrying as parents would think twice before entrusting their children in the hands of teachers.

The Kasama scandal has created a stir with the authorities moving in to act after having initially played down the report.
