2022 ABSA CUP QUARTER FINAL SET FOR KITWE

By Musenge Mulimba

All is set for 2022 ABSA Cup tournament billed for Kitwe’s Arthur Davis Stadium.

The quarter final fixture will see 2018 winners Nkana facing Lumwana Radiant’s in the first match of the day.

Green EAGLES who are yet to win the Cup will face ZESCO United in the second fixture.

League leaders and tournament favorites Red Arrows will lock horns with Nkwazi on Sunday while Green Buffaloes will face Eden University side Napsa stars.

And Nkana Coach BESTON CHAMBESHI says his side will not underrate Lumwana, a team he once coached not too long ago while Lumwana coach BILTON MUSONDA said his team wants to go all the way and win the trophy.

Meanwhile, Green Eagles Assistant Coach ROBSON KALENGA said his team is in it to win; stating Zesco is a beatable team.

But Zesco united assistant Coach EMMANUEL SIWALE is optimistic of making it to the semi finals.

And Red Arrows goal keeper coach KALILILO KAKONJE said his team is looking to replicate current league form to the Cup game but believes the game against Nkwazi will be different.

Nkwazi Coach DENNIS MAKINKA said the Red Arrows game will be tough.

Green Buffaloes’ JUSTIN CHINAMA hopes to win this year’s ABSA to compensate on the league which looks to be slipping away from the army-sponsored side.

The winners of the ABSA Cup will walk away with 650,000 Kwacha while the runners up will be given 350,000 Kwacha.
