2020 ABSA CUP TOURNAMENT CALLED OFF

The 2020 ABSA Cup tournament has been called off and will not take place this year.

Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- General Secretary Adrian Kashala has disclosed to ZNBC Sports that the annual cup tournament will instead take place next year.

Kashala says the cancellation of the competition is due to the coronavirus pandemic, which has had a negative impact on the 2019/2020 football calendar.

He said both ABSA and FAZ have concluded that the tournament be played next year to allow clubs adjust to playing football under the COVID-19.

Kashala said a tentative date will be set next year after assessing how teams will adapt to the 2020/2021 football season.
