2 Nabbed for Fake Kwacha Notes

Police in Chama district of Muchinga Province have arrested two men for alleged possession of fake Zambian Kwacha amounting to 10,000 Kwacha.Muchinga Province Police Commissioner Joe Njase has confirmed the development to the Zambia News and Information Services in Chinsali today. Mr. Njase identified the two men as Gershom Sichimata,34, and Steven Musango aged 32, both of Isoka district.He said the two were found in possession of counterfeit 100 Kwacha notes all bearing serial number FF128279921 amounting to 10,000 Kwacha.The two were arrested as they attempted to deposit 2,300 Kwacha at an Airtel money agent at Chama market square in Senior Chief Kambombo in Chama district.Muchinga police chief said the duo is detained in police custody at Chama police station and will appear in court soon.Mr Njase  also disclosed that the fake money involved has been recovered.
