Zambian Student Dies In China

A Zambian female student studying at Xinyu University in China has died unexpectedly.
Ministry of home affairs public relations officer Dorcas Chileshe said the student has been identified as Sophie Kakusa aged 21.
Mrs Chileshe  said in an interview yesterday that Ms Kakusa died after a short illness on Friday September 2, 2016.
She said Ms Kakusa was a third year privately sponsored student who was studying marketing.
Mrs Chileshe said Government through the Ministry of Foreign   Affairs and the mission in China is working towards facilitating the repatriation of MS Kakus’s body to Zambia.
“Both our mission in China and the Ministry of Foreign affairs are aware about the death of Sophie Kakusa, and the Mission in China is helping to facilitate the repatriation of the body,”Mrs Chileshe said.
She said Ms Kakusa’ parents are based in Kabwe and that the funeral is being held there while the details about the repatriation of her remains will be communicated later.
