Zambian Mission to Madagascar Poll Get To Work

Antananarivo- Saturday 27th October 2018.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Hon. Joe Malanji is in Antananarivo, Madagascar to inaugurate the SADC Electoral Observer  Mission for the Republic of Madagascar.

Hon. Malanji met SADC Secretaria led by the Director of SADC Organ Ambassador Jorge Cardozo.

Hon. Joe Malanji was accompanied by the Head of the SADC Electoral Observer Mission in the Republic of Madagascar, Hon.Dr. Katele Kalumba and Zambia’s Ambassador to Madagascar His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba.

Director of the SADC Organ on Politics, Defence, Peace and Security, Ambassador Jorge Cardozo gave a comprehensive brief to Hon. Malanji and Dr. Katele Kalumba.

Madagascar goes to Presidential Polls on 7th November 2018 while Parliamentary elections will.be held in April 2019.

The Polls have attracted 36 candidates that include four(4) former Presidents; Hery Rajaonarimampianina, Andy Rajoelina, Marc Ravalomanana, and Didier Ratsiraka.

A second round is expected as no candidate is predicted  to 50+1 in the first run. The second run is scheduled to be on 29th December 2018.
