Zambian Businessman murdered in SA
A Zambian businessman has been murdered in South Africa.
Sajjad Ahmed Abbasi was earlier reported to be missing when he didn’t return to his hotel room in Sandton, South Africa last week.
But South African Police shockingly found the body of Abbasi and are making preliminary inquiries to establish the prime suspect(s) .
And Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba has confirmed the death of Abbasi and said his office would closely work with the South African Police and if need be with the Zambian Police to ensure that culprits were brought to book.
Mwamba said the Embassy had been coordinating with the family of Abbasi to ensure that the he was found and before facts about his death were established.
Details about the discovery of his body have been exclusively given to the family and the body was identified by his brother by the name of Fawad.
Mwamba also stated that the family had been informed and some members are expected to travel to South Africa for the funeral of Abbasi on Wednesday.
Last week Abbasi was reported in the media as missing.
Initial information showed that Abbawhererived in South Africa on Wednesday 7th September 2016.
He stayed at the HydroPark Furnished apartments on the 11th Floor in Room 1116 on Graystone Drive in Sandton and wheee he met up with other Zambians.
Abbasi was last seen at Woodmead Shopping Mall on Thursday 8th September 2016 where he was dropped by his colleagues.
He was reportedly meeting another Zambian national in FourWays Suburbs.
Preliminary information revealed that Abbasi had travelled to South Africa to pursue a matter of a pending vehicle – a Toyota Lexus which he purchased last month.
The case of a missing person and related cases were reported to t
