ZAMBIA BEING CONNECTED-GOVT

Energy Minister Matthew Nkhuwa says government is currently connecting all border towns to the national electricity grid.
Mr. Nkhuwa says this is because there are plans to sell electricity from border towns to neighbouring countries.
He was responding to a question from Mafinga Member of Parliament Jacob Siwale during the questions for oral answer session in parliament today.
Mr. Siwale wanted to find out when Mafinga District will be connected to the National electricity grid.
But Mr. Nkhuwa said government through Zesco is constructing a 1-hundred and 32 KV line that will also cater for Mafinga District.
He said the project that will cost 15 million Kwacha is expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
