ZAIN donate 500 face masks

Ndhlovu said ZAIN is not only aware of but has also witnessed the first hand devastating effects of COVID-19 in the USA and does not want the same to happen to the people in Zambia

Lusaka (12-05-2020) The Zambia Association of Indiana (ZAIN) has joined other organisations and individuals in fighting the outbreak of the notorious noval coronary virus also known as COVID-19 which has left a trail of distraction not only in Zambia but world over.
Speaking when he donated 500 surgical masks to help in mitigating the impact of COVID-19 in Zambia, ZAINA president Noah Ndhlovu said a significant portion of people with COVID-19 do not show symptoms and are transmiting the virus before the signs are shown.
“What this means is that, the virus can be spread between people interacting in close proximity.”
For example, Ndhlovu observed speaking, coughing or sneezing even not exhibiting symptoms people can still transmit the virus to those close to them.
In the light of this new evidence, Ndhlovu said, the CDC working with the MoH have recommended wearing of cloth face masks in public places where social gathering is not possible.
He said his Association is not only aware but has also witnessed the first hand devastating effects of COVID-19 in the USA and does not want the same to happen to the people in Zambia.
He said is for this reason that the Zambian community in Indiana put together the resources to procure the 500 surgical face masks which they donated to the MoH as a gesture of goodwill to the people of Zambia.
He said the health are sector is at centre of of the pandemic and his organisation is ensuring that the frontlines are equipped with the PPE.
