Yaluma hails combined CAMINEX & CBM-TEC show

Mines and Minerals Development Minister Christopher Yaluma has backed the combining of the trade shows CAMINEX & CBM-TEC, saying guarantees a suitable platform for business and networking in the mining and agricultural sectors.

Yaluma said this Tuesday when delivering the opening keynote address at the seminar series which is taking place alongside the mining, industrial and agricultural trade show.

The new combined format is also endorsed by Johan Jansen, the CEO of Mopani Copper Mines, who says that “he looks forward to what is to come from the show in the future”.

The Ministerial tour of the show yesterday morning saw Ministers engaging with exhibitors on their stands. Over 150 local and international exhibitors representing the mining, industrial, agricultural and financial sectors are at the show with a showcase of products, machinery, equipment and services. There has been an overwhelming positive response from exhibitors towards the combined show. Already visitor numbers have topped 60% of total previous visitor numbers, still with two days to go.

The merge of the two shows highlights the commitment to developing trade in the Copperbelt region and to ensuring the best possible experience for exhibitors and visitors. It has created a valuable platform to stimulate business in the mining, industrial and agricultural sectors.

The seminar series continues today and the Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya  will present a keynote address outlining how agriculture and manufacturing are key enablers to developing a sustainable agro-industry.
