Wife Fetes Amos Chanda

Presidential Spokesman, Amos Chanda walked the traditional path with his wife Mable feting him for having been a good husband over the years.

Mable hosted the traditional ceremony known as “Amatebeto” at Manchinchi Gardens in Olympia Park.

The event drew attendance from Patriotic Front General Secretary Davies Mwila and Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba.

Amatebeto is a Bemba marriage ceremony held by the wife to celebrate her husband with a food feast and special guests, to thank the husband for respecting the marriage, for giving her children, and for keeping both families in harmony.

Icilanga Mulilo on the other hand is a pre-wedding or pre-marriage ceremony held by the wife in honour of the husband to showcase the kinds and types of foods from her family that he is likely to enjoy in his marriage.
