We Are Better Economic Managers; That’s Why They’re Fighting Us – Hichilema

Opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema says his leadership is comprised of better economic managers the reason it is enduring persecution from the ruling party.

Hichilema said this following appearance in the Luanshya Magistrate where he and his deputy Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba are facing unlawful assembly charges.

BELOW IS HICHILEMA’S FULL STATEMENT

Greetings fellow citizens,

This morning with our Vice President Mr Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba and myself were back in Luanshya magistrate court. During the court hearing, the state mentioned that they are having challenges with their witnesses. The state also indicated that their witnesses may be frustrated over time.

This matter has since been adjourned to 22nd and 23rd of March, 2017 for possible commencement of trials. This has also been necessitated by our application to add another lawyer to the case.

However, we wish to inform the nation that we will from now on and going forward take a bold step in focusing on developing our country in any possible way we can. Our agenda is for a better and safer Zambia, not divisions and delaying development by fighting those with better economic management skills.
