UPPZ receive defectors from PAC

…As Chanda pay tribute to farmers

By Francis Maingaila
Choongwe (1-09-18) United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) president Charles Chanda has paid glaring tribute to farmers for dedicating their lives to feeding the nation.

Chanda told defectors from People’s Alliance for Change (PAC) of which many of them are farmers that without their efforts the country would be starving.

Despite the noble job farmers do for  the nation, Chanda explained, millions of farmers are living in untold misery, with the majority  in the country side and are without social amenities like televisions and social networks.

Chanda felt extremely humbled by the   reception  he received from the farmers that left their works to welcome him.

Chanda however regretted the idea of government deciding the maize prices for farmers, saying this was another way of impoverishing  farmers.

He wondered why it is only the prices of maize that have gone down when the prices of other commodities, including rentals constantly going up.

He explained that the people behind the reduction of maize prices want to be  exporting the maize abroad to fetch abnormal price.

He suggested that some leaders have formed a curtail that buying maize  through agents at K65 or less from farmers and then sale the commodity abroad at $250 dollars  same quantity of 50 kilo gram.

He said  government officials are taking advantage of the farmer’s ignorance to enrich themselves.

He said when UPPZ form government in 2021, this will come to an end.

Chanda also accused the government of having  secret machines for printing the ballot papers but wondered why the same machine is not used to print ballot papers for by elections.

He suspect, there are some people benefiting from the by election because each time a by election is called some people are benefiting from the exercise of printing ballot papers and that was the reason they are opposed to using the printer at home to print ballot papers.

At the same function Chanda welcomed over 60 defectors from PAC structures in Choongwe

Chanda said his party has continue to attract people from different political parties as evidenced by those coming from PAC.

While other parties spend time buying people from other parties, Chanda explained, UPPZ people through its actions was attracting people.

He also indicated that Zambia was rich country but the wealth was being looted by selfish leaders that only want to enrich themselves.

He assured the people that his party was peaceful and want to introduce a different type of politics of development as opposed to violence being witnessed in the two largest political parties, the PF and UPND.

He said UPPZ wants to empower the people with lands saying this will enable the local people have land for dwelling and farming.

He also told the people of Choongwe that they were blessed because they have a chief who is ready to protect them and their land from looters.

He said UPPZ will stand by the chief in her quest to protect the land from human vultures that want to enrich themselves from the wealth belonging to the people of Choongwe.

And former PAC Choongwe district Chairman Greenford Mwale said he was forced to join UPPZ by the good leadership qualities of its president Chanda.

Whilst facing numerous challenges in PAC, including fake promises, lack of motivation, Mwale said Chanda has been providing not  only qualitable but also worth leadership to the satisfaction of the people.

He called Chanda the only surviving man of action after the late Michael Chilufya Sata.

From now onwards, Meale explained, we will be available to work and support Chanda until he takes over government in 2021.

Meanwhile Chanda has criticised the leaders that took part in the 2016 presidential and general election for failing to protect the victims of violence that ensured before, during and after the election.

Chanda said many people got injured, including the families of those whose relative died before during and after the election.

In the run up to the 2016 elections, Chanda said some people had their homes burnt by irate cadres who wanted different results.

He added that in some places, the supporters of the ruling party also took time punishing those who refused to be in their camp.

In each one of these cases, Chanda explained, he has not seen or heard of any political party leader that took part in the last election who went to either console or help the victims.

He advised the people of Choongwe to be wary not to vote for any one of the leaders that took party in the last election for want of soft heart for the people.

My prayer is that the people of Zambia does not make a mistake in the coming election to vote for heartless and corrupt leaders because doing so will make them to regret having voted for them.”

Further, Chanda wondered where the government ministers get huge sums of money which they were donating to party functions and yet the money in question does not correspond to their pay.

Where do these minister get the money which they are donating to the party functions. For example, some ministers make donation as high as K125 million to the party when they have a pay of K19, 000.”

My only conclusion is that, Chanda explained, the money donated to the party by minister is stolen from government coffers.

Furthermore, Chanda wondered how president Edgar Lungu could know the suffering of the people when he spend most of his time in the plane and is protected by his security officers.

He also regretted the money which the government was using to buy councilors from the opposition to create by election what he said was draining the state coffers.

He said Zambia does not work political president but a leader who has sympathy for those who need help.

Unlike the government spend money to buy councilors, Chanda said, he spend money to acquire land to empower the people.

I earned the money with hard work and no one can accuse me of having stolen the money from government because I have never worked in government.”

Had I wanted to make profit, Chanda explained, I could have sold the plots at a very high price to make profit but for the love of my people, the land is on give away price.

He said UPPZ does not need the Chinese money to help the people of Zambia because doing so is like committing suicide.

He said the Chinese in Zambia today have more power than government officials because the government survive on Chinese money.

He said in Kasenengwa, the government is spending huge sums of Chinese money to bribe electorates.

If the government cared, it could have used the money to relieve the people of the suffering. Regrettably, the money goes to bribing voters.”

He also claimed that the government has sold Longacres lodge to the Turkish company buy the construction works will be done by a Chinese company.
