UPPZ on mission to empower rural communities

Batoka (19-06-18) Opposition United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) has pledged to support vulnerable communities across the country paying particular attention women and youths.

UPPZ president Charles Chanda told the people that gathered in hundreds at Batoka grounds to watch foot and netball tournament organised by his party that UPPZ has put in place programs, including businesses aimed supporting vulnerable families.

“Our target to help families and communities associated with the UPPZ. But program will also extend to other families that are interested to work with his party.”

He added that UPPZ will support the communities in rural areas in agricultural activities.

He said the people living in rural areas have the chance to succeed in agricultural businesses.

“All the people need is a little push and encourage interest communities to venture into large and small scheme businesses.”

He said the UPPZ also has running program for sending people back to school.

And Chanda also said he has great respect of  women and will ensure that they are protected all the time.

“Any person that create a negative situation for women has no room in his heart.”

He regretted politicians that use women as springboard for political success.

He said during campaigns politicians are always on the move to solicit for vote and distribute cheap Chitenge materials to women.

He said UPPZ will not give women cheap chitenge materials to women because they deserve the best.

Chanda demonstrated a gesture of good will by giving the women of Batoka high quality chitenge material to all the women that attended the tournament.

He said the chitenge the women were to receive did not have a symbol of UPPZ and the people would use it anywhere although it was a part legaria

Meanwhile Chanda said the party has set aside resources to enable the people who for some reasons unknown had stopped going to school.

He said the future for young people depend on the education and UPPZ will not stop at any to send the people willing back to school.

Chanda said he the man of action and will ensure that everything he has promised to communities is fulfilled in this time.

Currently, Chanda explained his party is working on sinking the bore holes to enable the people in Batoka access not only clean but also fresh water.

He said his party is waiting for the government to respond to an application he made to sink bore holes to provide water to communities in Batoka area.

He also promised to support youths in various sporting activities.

He said he want to transform small clubs into a full time leagues that will be supported by the UPPZ.

He said with his support, some players from the UPPZ league will end up playing in the  national team.

The first things UPPZ want to do first is to build new and better football and netball pitches.

For this reason, Chanda explained, UPPZ has hired ten boys from the area to clear the land where better football and netball pitches will be made.

“After completing the Batoka pitches, he will go to another  place outside Batoka.”

Meanwhile the winner of yesterday’s Batoka tournament walked way with a set of jesses, foot ball and two thousand kwacha cash.

The team that came second received jesses and football. While the teams that came third and fourth received footballs.

Chanda assured the teams of his party’s continued support and urged them to work hard in the spirit of good health.
