The Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) in Solwezi has claimed that it is not shaken by the increase in the number of resignations from its councillors.
The UPND has witnessed an increased number of resignations of its councillors in North Western Province which has triggered numerous by elections.
Recently, the ruling party won two out of the three by elections in Kasempa and Zambezi while the UPND retained one in Solwezi.
Solwezi District UPND Information Publicity Secretary Adam Sapezo says the opposition political party is not shaken by the continued resignations.
He played down the impact of the resignation of Tumvwananai Ward Councillor Kyapalushi Kapatamoyo who was the latest to jump ship.
“We all know that she was not working and was one of the people that joined the party because of personal gain,” he sourly said.
