UPND Cadres Cautioned To Desist From Committing Acts Of Violence

By Lukundo Nankamba

Political Analyst Eustone Chiputa has cautioned UPND cadres to desist from committing acts of violence because they are in power.

And Dr. Chiputa has advised the ruling UPND to break this trend of political violence which seems to be repeating itself from the previous party that was in power, the patriotic front.

Commenting on reported acts of violence allegedly being perpetrated by UPND cadres in the ongoing Kaumbwe constituency parliamentary by-elections on the socialist party and patriotic front members in the eastern province, Dr Chiputa says there is a need for concerted efforts by the not only government but the community as well to stop this vice that has the potential to undermine Zambia’s democracy.

And commenting on this matter, UPND Secretary General Patrick Mucheleka says cadres that are engaging in such retrogressive acts have no support from the party and has appealed to the police not to spare anyone who will be found involving themselves in such acts.
