UN Should Treat Africa As Equal Partner, Says Shimunza

IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

18/09/2017

THE UNITED NATIONS (UN) HAS NOT ADEQUATELY CONSIDERED AFRICAN STATES AS SOVEREIGNS AND MUST BE REFORMED ON AFRICAN POLICY

We in the Movement for National Transformation (MNT), contend that the United Nations (UN)  has not considered African Nations as equal players since inception on 10th December, 1948, but as third world countries which are branded developing states.

Sadly, African nations  have tolerated for so long  a scenario making sovereign African states to perpetually depend on the West as “puppet States”.

The following reasons qualify our view that the UN must be reformed in its policy for Africa.

Firstly, till  now,  all African States have no  permanent Membership in the Security Council.

Secondly,  no African State is in the G8.

Thirdly, Africans have  perpetually depended on the West, be it by design or default, through global institutions like International Monetary Fund(IMF), World trade organization,  and World Bank.

Fourthly, the world has seen more wars than peace since 1948 in Africa despite the relationship Africa has in the  UN .

Fifthly,  the UN has not made any African nation at least First World inspite of assistance rendered,  where the World Bank, World Trade Organization, and IMF have been so far. So what is their contributions to africa?

Partly, Africans themselves have  not taken their  status seriously, and must take full responsibility from begging policies and become custodians of their own  destiny. We are all victims of our Past, but we are custodians of our Present, and are architects of our own future.

That is why MNT will fight to lift the dignity of Zambia, and Africa to be recognized in the Security Council and G8. We say so, because at the moment, no African State enjoys permanent Membership in the G8. They are merely  having observer status. As long as we remain third World,  with underdevelopment,  with lack of industrial and advanced economies,  we shall remain puppet States in the UN. It is time our leaders in Zambia and Africa  elevated their game to global status.

MNT aspires for an advanced economy and  industrialized Zambia with a first world agenda to secure a place for our nation and Africa in the G8, and Security Council respectively.

Therefore,  the UN must reconsider it’s position on Africa in their policy to be recognized as Sovereign States equal in rights,  voting, and seats. Our new generation sees the UN as being a rubber stamp organization of NATO and developed nations  with a relative puppet relationship with Africans needing reforms. It’s time the UN respected all sovereign states of Africa, Zambia included.

We,  in the Movement for National Transformation MNT,  have an agenda to develop  Zambia to the level of  first world government beyond 2

021.  Our current leaders are failing to manage a local game with  relative third world  development because they are transactional not transformative, while the west has been playing a global game since time in memorial. The battle now is about Nationalisation and globalization. Whoever, can take both will dominate.  Taking one is lack of vision and mediocrity.

Can African states gain status in the Security Council? Can the UN consider Africa for once, not as dependent states but interdependent nations? We are tired as a new generation of leaders with double standards and want to  see our nation and continent not remaining a perpetual potential of relative development, but must become the  ultimate of development, which is first world.  That is why the Movement for National Transformation (MNT) is advocating for ultimate development to first world nation status in 2021and  going beyond. 2021 will not be about eligibility, or for re -cycled politicians, who have failed us, but competence to foster a first world vision, not sustainable goals of the quality of middle income nation in the 7th NDP,  and only MNT can take us there. Enough is enough!

We  have seen  mediocrity since 1948, as Africans are  being USED as puppet States of the West for our resources because

we have allowed them.

Today watching CNN Commentry on the 72nd UN General Assembly said, ” this session is about America with its President with a Nationalisation agenda in a global world “. That comment shows that America dominates the space of the UN and exists to promote her agenda first not ours. We love America in a way,   but the world is no longer Bi- polar, it’s now multi -polar as global power is shifting to nations whether East or West whose leadership is transformative, not transactional or transitional. MNT was established for this reason to transform Zambia from third world to first world nation status agenda. Our foreign policy must change both regards bilateral and multilateral engagements going forward.

MNT is calling for all well meaning Zambians and Africans to reconfigure our priorities beyond intra- state rivalry, corruption, violence, pettiness,  immaturity,  mediocrity,  and develop our nation to first world status in economics, media,  military, education, Agriculture, tourism, health, and rural underdevelopment,  respectively. This is the ultimate of qualitative development required of our nation and continent. The spell of backwardness must be broken, and accentuate a new standpoint for African and Zambian initiatives to become an advanced economy and aggressively industrialized nation.

MNT will do everything possible to make Zambia an advanced economy and aggressively industrialized nation in 2021 and beyond. MNT seeks to improve rural poverty,  Agriculture,  backwardness and tourism aggressively.

Current Transactional and transitional leadership cannot take us to first world nation status. Only transformative leadership can. If you want to be part of this first world movement,  be part of MNT, so that together, we can champion this first world nation ideology.

That is why MNT has a media policy that will be implemented to elevate all private and public media practitioners to first world nation status, both in policy, content, standards,  and correspondence to be competitive with the best nations comparatively. We as MNT will settle for nothing less than authentic empowerment of Women,  Youths, and children with not only an improved standard of living, but high standard of life for all Zambians regardless of tribe,  region, and religion. Let us all UNITE AS ZAMBIANS, around the First world vision and make our nation proud and free. Together, we can become first world and secure our seat in the UN security Council and G8.

GOD BLESS OUR GREAT REPUBLIC OF ZAMBIA.
