Two people injured in a road traffic accident in Lusaka

TWO people have sustained serious injuries while others sustained minor injuries in a Road Traffic accident which happened on Wednesday, 31st August, 2016 in Chalala area.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga has disclosed in a statement that the accident happened around 17:30 hours along Mosi-o-tunya road opposite Arthur Wina primary school in Chalala.

He says the accident involved a unknown adult female driver whose residential address is not yet known who sustained serious injuries.

Hamoonga has revealed that the victim female driver was driving a Toyota Runx registration number ADC 9542 which had the front part extensively damaged.

“Also involved was male Chola whose other name, age and residential address are not yet known,” Hamoonga says.

He says Chola was driving a Toyota Hiace mini bus registration ALX 3454, fleet number LSK 7266 whose damages where a depressed front, deformed driver’s door, shattered front windscreen, broken headlamps, grill and side window glasses.

“Also involved were bus passengers whose actual number is not yet known who sustained slight injuries,” says Hamoonga.

He has stated that the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
