Kyokushin Karate Association of Zambia (KKAZ) acting branch Chief Farai Mangaba said in an interview before departure in Lusaka yesterday that the fighters were ready to perform well and win medals for the country.
Mangaba said the two karatekas had gone through intensive training by their coach Sydney Njala and was confident the two will do the country proud.
“The two fighters are ready for the championship and we are confident that they will win medals for the country, they are the best athletes for this tournament because they have been winning tournaments that we have held.
“They have proved to be the best athletes around, they have been winning every single competition the association has organised and we are sure the two will do the country proud,” Mangaba said.
