Traffic controllers at construction sites should be trained -Nondo

bwalya nondoThe National Restoration Party (NAREP) has urged the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) to start training traffic controllers used at construction sites near the road.

NAREP spokesperson Bwalya Nondo has told Q-news that the people that are used to control traffic at construction sites near the road are not properly trained and that this may result in accidents.

He says RTSA should engage the companies that are carrying out construction works so that they can train the people they use to control the flow of traffic.

Mr Nondo says in order to avoid accidents and unnecessary congestion, RTSA should help train these people on traffic rules and road signs so that they can understand how to control the vehicles on the road.

Mr Nondo states that construction companies should carefully think about the consequences of using non trained personnel to control traffic as this may cause accidents.
