Three Ministry of Infrastructure accountants fired for theft of public funds

THE Civil Service Commission has dismissed three (3) accountants from the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Development for fraud and theft of public funds.
Meanwhile, government says it will recover the stolen funds from the terminal and pension benefits of the dismissed officials.
Ministry of Finance Spokesperson Chileshe Kandeta who confirmed this named the dismissed officers as the Principal Accountant Mr Enoce Kashweka, and two Account Assistants Mr Hutson Hachuma, and Mr Eugine Kausu.
And Kandeta said Law Enforcement Agencies will pursue the matter according to law.
Meanwhile Secretary to the Treasury Fredson Yamba has advised Controlling Officers in various government institutions to be on high alert in monitoring the happenings in their institutions.
