THIS JUST IN: Hector Banda dies

HECTOR Banda, husband to famous Lusaka entrepreneur, Sylvia Banda of the Sylvia Catering Enterprises has died.
According to a report circulated on various media platforms, Mr. Banda is said to have suffered a suspected cardiac arrest as he just fell this morning.
But his son Chanda has refuted claims that his father “fell down” after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Chanda rather clarified that his father died in his bed last night after earlier complaining about a congested chest.
“I would like to confirm that indeed our father past away last night. However, he did not ‘just fall down’ after suffering a cardiac arrest. He passed away peacefully in his bed after complaining earlier about a congested chest,” Chanda stated.
Chanda said his father leaves behind a wife – Mrs. Sylvia C. Banda, four (4) children and a grandchild.
He said on his passing, Mr Banda was the Chairman of the Sylva Group of Companies and Vice Chancellor of Sylva University.
