There is no message in the song Koswe Mumpoto

By Luis Katongo

There is no message in the song Koswe Mumpoto. I am not even sure if it is a song because it lacks the basic attributes of a song. And it is not nice by any stretch of the imagination. It is just a group of words put together to demean a person. Such politics are beneath me. Let us not confuse malice with satire or mistake name-calling for reasoned debate.

If I met Edgar Lungu today I would tell him about thousands and thousands of unemployed youths who are suffering right now as we speak . And damn I would point out his failure to get rid of cancerous ministers like Nkandu Luo, Dora Siliya and Joyce Nonde Simukoko. I would tell him about his failure to get rid of Chinese assets like Kaiser and Amos. And His failure to stand up against corruption. And our problems with the police.

Let us learn to engage our leaders in a direct and meaningful way and avoid punching them below the belt. No one is more disappointed with President Lungu than I am. But he is still a human being and I will not poke fun at his failures. And I would not attempt to reduce his character to that of a rodent. Yes The challenges we are facing in this country are real. But taking a path of malicious intent will not solve the problem.

This same message should go to Chilufya Tayali who has turned himself into a PF lapdog and spends his days and nights attacking HH. We all want to put food on our tables. But not in that way. There is always another Way.
