There are no plans to sale off public asserts, insists Siliya

Chief government spokesperson Dora Siliya has insisted that there are no plans to sale off any public property to service debt owed to the Chinese government

Ms. Siliya says Zambia is not in a debt crisis for government to think of selling any of the public properties to earn money for repaying the debt.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka, Ms. Siliya disclosed that government is however aware that there is a ploy to bring into disrepute the sustained relations between Zambia and China.

Ms. Siliya, who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Minister, says the people behind this ploy are both within and outside Zambia.

She states that the general public should nevertheless disregard any reports they hear about the Zambian government wanting to sell any of the public properties.

She says such reports will be false and malicious.
