Tayali defends fire truck and Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage way deals, goes for Kambwili

Chilifya Tayali

Economic and Equity Party President Chilufya Tayali has launched a blistering attack on former Information and Broadcasting Minister Chishimba Kambwili, calling him a hypocrite who “should expire from politics”.

And Tayali has defended the controversial purchase of 42 fire engines at the cost of US$42 million and the US$1.2 billion Lusaka-Ndola dual carriage way.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka Wednesday morning, Tayali charged that Kambwili should stop playing politics of hide and seek.

He states that not long ago the same Roan Member of Parliament was part of the Patriotic Front (PF) led Government he is accusing of being corrupt today.

Tayali urged all well meaning Zambians not to pay attention to politicians like Kambwili whom he says is trying to gain political mileage after being expelled from the ruling party.

The EEP leader has further justified the amount Government intends to spend on the Ndola -Lusaka carriage way saying the normal cost of a highway would not be less than One million Dollars.

Tayali says he has facts on hand indicating the cost of constructing a highway and has since challenged anyone in the opposition to approach him if they feel what he is saying is not the truth.

He however insisted that he is not in any way supporting the PF-led Government but that he is stating facts which are there for all to see.
