Suspend the constitution � Kambwili

Roan ruling Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has called for the suspension of the current constitution.

Kambwili who was part of the team that enacted the constitution blames President Lungu and says he warned cabinet and MPs against rushing to enact the constitution in 2015.

The Roan MP who is also now the shadow leader of the opposition NDC after he was expelled from PF says President Lungu was in a hurry to sign the constitution when he saw some lacuna citing the clause which says a presidential term of office should be not less than three years. Kambwili says President Lungu who was going to be seeking a second re-election saw this as an opportunity to seek a third term re-election in 2021.

Kambwili was speaking on a live Christian Voice interactive programme in Lusaka.
