Sumaili: God Has a Plan For HH

RELIGIOUS affairs and national guidance minister Reverend Godfridah Sumaili says she looks forward to meeting UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema so that she can tell him that God loves him and that He has a plan for his life.

And Rev Sumaili says government will not entertain ‘prophets’ whose actions border on magic and witchcraft.

Rev Sumaili said when she featured on Muvi TV’s The Assignment programme on Sunday evening that if she met Hichilema, who was currently incarcerated on, among others, a treason charge, she would remind him about everyone’s destiny.

Within our party, we have been having dialogue but for sure, I have not met the president of UPND. I look forward to doing that (meeting Hichilema). The first thing I will tell him is that God loves you and [that] God has a plan for your life. I will also say that all of us have destinies in life and it’s always good to be in the plan of God and to move with God [and] also humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and in due course, He will lift you up,Rev Sumaili said.

She also pointed out that the role of her ministry was to ensure that the Church partnered with government in national development.

President Edgar Lungu announced the creation of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and National Guidance on August 28, 2016 after which Parliament ratified its creation on October 27, 2016.

“I’m sure [that] you’ll agree with me that the Church has been very instrumental,” Rev Sumaili noted.

And on the proliferation of ‘prophets’ in the country, Rev Sumaili, who is founder of Jesus Cares Ministry, stressed that the government could not allow performance of miracles that were disconnected from biblical teachings.

I believe in miracles but miracles that are generated by God and not miracles that are coming from magic and witchcraft. If they (some prophets) base their miracles on practices that are not biblical, we shall not allow that – we are a Christian nation,
said Rev Sumaili.

We are blessed in this country to have standing men and women of God who are preaching the true gospel of Jesus Christ and it’s important that we as government work closely with these men and women of God.

The government on April 13 deported a Nigerian, ‘prophet’ Andrew, who was commonly known as Seer One.

And over a week ago, the Immigration Department deported Zimbabwean Prophet Urbert Angel and his wife at the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on arrival from the United Kingdom.
Prophet Angel had come into the country for a conference.
