Stop The Nonsense, Nevers Warned

ITS utter nonsense for Nevers Mumba to continue masquerading as MMD leader and issuing statements in the party’s name concerning incarcerated UPND leader, Hakainde Hichilema, the party has charged.

The party leadership has warned Dr Mumba to form his own political party and enter into a marriage of convenience with the UPND, “since that is your source of livelihood or we start contempt proceedings against you for masquerading as our president,” the MMD has warned Nevers Mumba.

Party national treasurer Christopher Banda warned that the MMD had restrained itself for a long time over Dr. Mumba’s truant behaviour but said it will no longer entertain lawlessness and watch Dr. Mumba bringing the party in disrepute.

Mr. Banda described Dr. Mumba’s latest remarks that MMD was in an alliance with the UPND and that it had issued any statements regarding the incarceration of UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema as utter nonsense.

He said Dr. Mumba’s continued ranting was reminiscent of a politician with a dying political ambition and whose future was blurred by selfishness, greed, and failure to read the signs of times and jumping into a political intercourse with people that had misled him to the core.

He said it was unfortunate that Dr. Mumba had found solace in peddling lies, hatred, mudslinging, and name-calling against the legitimate leadership in the former ruling party with the hope that he would resuscitate his tattered image but charged that he was “celebrating a successful hunt of an elephant with only a kalulu on his shoulders.”

He said the false hope that Dr. Mumba was giving himself that he would bounce back as MMD president were out to choke him when reality finally dawns that he had been rejected and ousted out of his position, never to return if he continued on his antagonistic path.

“I wish to reiterate that the MMD is not in any way into any alliance with the UPND as indicated by Dr. Mumba. We have not signed any document over the treason charges Mr. Hichilema is facing. Dr. Mumba should state his personal interest in the UPND rather than bringing the name of the MMD into his personal business.
