Stakeholders Urged To Work Towards Improving The Country`s Governance System

The Governance, Elections and Research Services –GEARS- initiative Zambia has asked all political stakeholders to work together towards improving the current electoral reforms and the general governance system of the country.

Gears Initiative Zambia executive director MacDonald Chipenzi says for the past one year, Zambia has failed performed below par in relation to good governance and management of elections.

Mr Chipenzi is concerned that if nothing is done now to work on the loopholes in governance and electoral laws, it will be difficult to eliminate political violence and may culminate into a non-free and fair election in 2021.

He spoke to phoenix news in an interview.
