South African Police Find Body Of Zambian Businessman Reported Missing Last Week

SOUTH African Police on Tuesday 13th September 2016 found the body of Zambian Businessman who was reported missing last week.

Sajjad Ahmed Abbasi was reported missing when he didn’t return to his hotel room in Sandton South Africa last week.

Police have made preliminary leads and established some prime suspect(s) in the case.

Zambia’s High Commissioner to South Africa Emmanuel Mwamba confirmed the sad development and stated that his office would closely work with the South African Police and if need be with the Zambian Police to ensure that culprits were brought to book.

He stated that the Embassy had been coordinating with the family of Sajjad to ensure that the he was found and facts about his missing were established.

Details about the discovery of his body have been given to the family and the body was identified by his brother- Fawad.

Mr. Mwamba stated that the family had been informed and some members are expected to travel to South Africa for the funeral of Sajjad on Wednesday.

Last week, a Zambian national and businessman Sajjad Ahmad Abbasi was reported missing.

Preliminary information showed that Sajjad arrived in South Africa on Wednesday 7th September 2016.

He stayed at the HydroPark Furnished apartments on the 11th Floor in Room 1116 on Graystone Drive in Sandton.

He met up with other Zambians.

He was last seen at Woodmead Shopping Mall on Thursday 8th September 2016 where he was dropped by his colleagues.

He was said to be meeting another Zambian national in Four Ways Suburbs.

Preliminary information revealed that Saajjad had travelled to South Africa to pursue a matter of a pending vehicle – a Toyota Lexus which he purchased last month.

The case of a missing person and related cases were reported to the South Africa Police for urgent investigations.
