Sanlam fulfil it’s obligation

Tenesi says, three top athletes will this weekend take part in the Cape Tolwn marathon

(Lusaka 9 -09-19) Sanlam has fulfilled its obligation of sending the top winners from the June 22, 2019 Inter-Company Relay (ICR) to South Africa to participate in the September 15, 2019 Cape Town Marathon.
Sanlam Acting Chief Executive Godfrey Tenesi told journalists at a media conference in Lusaka that the two winners Moses Chungu of Zambia Army and Felistus from the Zambia National Service (ZNS), including an additional Parkson Kalanga,  his Company’s regular client.
Tenesi said the winners will travel to South Africa not only to compete in the upcoming marathon but also exchange ideas from other participants from all over Africa.
“This trip will provide a platform for exchange of ideas, learning from how Gold label status marathon are run and bringing these ideas home for us to uplift our local marathon in Zambia.”
More importantly, Tenesi observed,  it is only through a healthy nation that can bring about proper development.
This the reason why Sanlam is very proud to be associated with the sponsorship of the marathon trip.”
Tenesi further disclosed that Sanlam believe that a healthy society can bring about development that improved the economy.
He said Sanlam is proud to have participated in this year’s Inter-Company Relay and commended the ICR management for their continued contribution to health and wellness of the nation through marathan.
Besides the three, Tenesi explained, Sanlam has added two more people, including Mpondela and Danny Chisala will join the athletes to South Africa where the marathan will take place.
He assured that the five people that will travel to South Africa for marathon safety. 
And  ICR president Elias Mpondela expressed gratitude for the sponsorship Sanlam offered to his company.
Speaking at the same media briefing Mpondela told journalists that the gesture signifies the commitment  Sanlam has for the development of athletics in Zambia.
Mpondela explained that the up coming marathon would give the athletes an opportunity to learn from the big guys in the  marathon.
“Identifying ourselves with Sanlam and Sanlam identifying themselves with Zambia and athletics, which is what they have promoted in South Africa.”
He added that for us, this is a very great gesture from Sanlam Zambia and we are very delighted also for the commitment that has been made to sponsor three top winners in various categories and that to us signifies the commitment that Sanlam Zambia is putting in the development of Athletics in Zambia.
