Pres. Lungu Portrait Fetches K20, 000 at Lufwanyama Fundraiser

The Patriotic Front over the weekend raised over K 260,000 to go towards party mobilization and other activities for Lufwanyama District.

Party Secretary General Davies Mwila set the tone with a contribution of K 50,000 during the fundraising Braii held at Mindolo Dam in Kitwe.

Kalulushi Member of Parliament Kampamba Mulenga was among those present with Kantanshi Independent Member of Parliament Mumba sending through his contribution despite being absent.

Provincial Chairman Stephen Kainga led other party officials contributing K 10,000 while others among them Luanshya Mayor Nathan Chanda, Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombs followed suit with the similar amounts.

The Business community was also on hand to throw in their weight pledging different amounts of money with Nathan Chanda buying the Presidential Portrait at K 20,000.

And in his address, Mwila sounded a warning that indiscipline will not be tolerated in the party ahead of the 2021 general elections.

“All those who are not loyal to the President shall be flushed out of the party. Politics by its nature is an expensive undertaking and for any party to grow, it must have a clear strategy on resource mobilization,” he said.

“It must be made very clear that without resources, a party cannot survive. I shall not tolerate any form of theft or misapplication of party funds. Anyone that will be found misusing party resources shall be charged and prosecuted.”
