Pres. Lungu Blames Opposition for Shifting Goal Posts on Dialogue

President Edgar Lungu says he is concerned by the continuous change of goal posts by the opposition on matters regarding national dialogue.

Speaking when he met members of the clergy at Luangwa House in Chipata on Sunday evening, President Lungu said changing of goal posts on the dialogue will not be allowed.

“We have agreed, we have said let the church take centre stage of this dialogue. Now, we are hearing ‘no the church where is the secretary to be provided by the church’ what does that mean? Whether the church wants to be the secretariat, chair and that would help us, so be it,” he said.

President Lungu said he is ready for dialogue even if it was to take place tomorrow.

The head of state who arrived in Eastern Province on Sunday paid courtesy calls on Paramount Chief Mpezeni of the Ngoni and Kalonga Gawa Undi of the Chewa people.

While in the province the head of state commissioned the solar project in Chipangali District.

During the commissioning of the solar project, the head of state said he was elated with the project.

President Lungu said the creation of Chipangali district was deliberate so that development could go to the area as it would have a lot of infrastructure.

Today Monday, the head of state will be in Vubwi before proceeding to Petauke District where he is expected to meet his family up to tomorrow when he would fly back to Lusaka.
