Power Deficit, A Wake Up Call For Zambia

The Zambia Association of Manufacturers ZAM says the current power deficit is a wakeup call for the country to find long term solutions.

ZAM vice president Chipego Zulu says this is the only way productivity will be sustained all year round. Ms Zulu told phoenix business news that the need for steady power supply cannot be over emphasized.

Government is in the process of importing electricity from South Africa and Mozambique to cushion the growing power deficit standing at over 700 megawatts Zambia is experiencing.
