Political Commentator Calls On ECZ To Take Action To Curb Electoral Violence

Political scientist Dr Alex Ngoma has dared the Electoral Commission of Zambia to make good on their threat to suspend political party campaigns following continued incidences of violence.

The ECZ recently warned that it will suspend campaigns or candidates if the incidences of violence did not subside ahead of the August 11 elections.

Ngoma said the ECZ should act on their words since the incidences of violence had not reduced despite their warning.

Political party cadres have continued having a go at each other with the UPND and PF being the main culprits.

Ngoma said the political parties had continued battering each other in the knowledge that the ECZ had merely issued an empty threat.
