Police officer hits pedestrian crossing the road in Lusaka

A 29 YEAR OLD pedestrian of Lusaka’s Chaisa compound has sustained a left structures let and bleeding from the nose after he was hit by a traffic police officer last evening around 19:00 hours.
The accident occurred along the Great East Road at Bwinjimfumu traffic lights as the police vehicle fell into the drainage after hitting the pedestrian who was then trying to cross the road.
According to Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo, the police officer was then dragged by his fellow officer to Northmead police station where he was later taken to Manda Hill police.
And Katongo has identified the involved police officer as Mulela Bonus of Barastone Park who was driving a Motor Vehicle MG registration number ZP 137C.
