Police Officer Fails To Obey Traffic Signs, Causes Accident Near Pub

A plain clothed police officer in Livingstone on Saturday night caused an accident involving three vehicles after he failed to obey traffic signs.
The Police officer who has been identified as Samson Kabandama (42) and was driving a Toyota car registration ZP 136 C along MusioTunya road opposite Limpos Pub at 23:30 Hours is said to have been hit by a Toyota Hilux registration number AJD 3173 driven by Malambo Kanene (24) of Livingstone’s Namatama compound.
Southern Province Commissioner of Police Bonny Kapeso who confirmed the accident explained that after the police vehicle was bashed, it later hit a stationery vehicle.
“The driver who had the right of way sustained chest pains while the second driver sustained a cut on the forehead and a passenger Eric Malambo aged 20 sustained cuts and bruised on forehead,” said Kapeso.
“All have been treated and discharged from Livingstone Hospital.”
“The cop will be charged with traffic offence or offences as soon as he recuperates after being discharged from hospital.We strongly condemn the actions of the officer in totality,” thundered Kapeso.
