A 33-year-old woman of Lusaka’s Garden Compound has been arrested for allegedly killing her nephew with a cooking stick.

Police Spokesperson, Esther Katongo has identified the suspect as Eunice Ngwenyama and the deceased as Mike Ngwenyama, 23, of the same compound.

Ms Katongo says Eunice passed through her nephew’s home where she found him with his girlfriend.

She says the suspect them queried Mike why he was fond of having relationships with prostitutes and then a fight ensued.

Ms Katongo says Eunice then picked a cooking stick and hit the victim on the head and he fell to the ground.

She says Mike was then taken to Garden Police for a medical report, but later died on his way to Chipata first level hospital.

Ms. Katongo says the accused is currently detained in police custody and will be charged with murder.

The deceased body is in Chipata First level Hospital Mortuary.
