PF Govt Is On The Right Economic Trajectory, Says US-Based Economist
US-based financial expert Clever Kanyanta has given the Patriotic Front a nod saying under President Edgar Lungu the economic trajectory is on the right track.
BELOW IS KANYATA’S STATEMENT
The Patriotic Front government of President Edgar Chagwa Lungu is on the right economic trajectory. However, Zambians should brace themselves for hard times because the benefits to the government’s infrastructure development plan are long term. The PF government has done exemplary well in road network as it thrives to diversify the economy. President Lungu has earmarked agriculture as the major contributor to Zambia’s economic emancipation.
All well meaning Zambians must support the president’s initiative to uplift the living standards of all citizens. Today it is easier for farmers and entrepreneurs to transport their produce or products to the marketplace due to the smooth road network. Only politicians with an insatiable appetite for power will take a jaundiced view of the achievements of the patriotic Front government.
The PF government has laid the foundation for economic recovery and development, but the problem at hand is that most Zambians have been deceived by special interest individuals to look for short term benefits. Short term benefits are good but what happens when the source dries out? The UNIP government during Dr Kenneth Kaunda’s reign tried coupons, but what happened when the source dried out?
Most Zambians were subjected to unprecedented suffering and the country ended up accruing insurmountable debt. The PF government must be commended for not looking for quick fixes but making bold and common sense decisions which will benefit all Zambians for many years to come.
Critics to the government must do their work but in a civil manner, and probably offer alternative solutions to economic challenges that most Zambians are facing. Running a country and its economy is not as easy as running a small enterprise. President Lungu has shown all Zambians that he means business and is president for all Zambians. PF policies must be supported as they are pro poor. Aluta continua.
