PF cadres who impounded mukula trucks walk to freedom

The four PF youths who intercepted a convoy of eleven trucks ferrying Mukula logs have been set free after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) entered a nolle prosequi in their aggravated robbery case.

This in a matter where, Venny Musonda, Augustine Mukuka, Robson Chipili and Fanny Zimba are charged with theft of property belonging to ZAFFICCO.

Particulars of the case are that on December 29, 2017, the accused, jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown did steal K17,000, USD1,300 and a phone altogether valued at K36,000.

But when the matter came up for commencement of trial today, the State informed the court that the DPP had decided to discontinue the case via a nolle prosequi.
