Petauke Contender, Josat Changa, Jumps Ship

Independent Petauke Central candidate Josat Changa has jumped ship midway through the election campaign joining the ruling Patriotic Front.

Changa will be on the ballot despite having abandoned his candidature as the nominations were already validated.

And the Young Africa Leaders have wishfully called for the cancellation of the Petauke Central nominations citing the newly amended constitution.

However the demand may be farfetched given how far the election process has gone.

YALI board member Isaac Mwanza cited article 52 (6) of the Zambian constitution as providing for the cancellation of the nomination once a validly nominated candidate crosses the floor after nomination.
