People Living With HIV To Suffer The Consequences More Than Other Zambians If The United States Withdraws Aid

The Treatment Advocacy and Literacy Campaign-TALC- says any slight reduction of aid by the United States Government to Zambia will have an adverse effect on people living with HIV/AIDS in the country.

Yesterday, United States Ambassador to Zambia Daniel Foote said if Zambia does not rethink on building the decaying relationship between the two countries, the American government will be left with no option but to review the aid levels to the country.

But TALC Country Director, Felix Mwanza says the threats by the US envoy must be taken seriously because if implemented, the majority of Zambians will suffer the consequences especially those living with HIV.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mwanza has urged the Zambian government to deal the issues raised by the US envoy diplomatically further stating that Zambia cannot afford losing aid from the US.
