Paying bills using FNB ATMs cheers LgWSC

LUKANGA Water and Sewerage Company (LgWSC) spokesperson Siwa Mwene has expressed hope, the devised new system of paying water bills through the First National Bank (FNB) using the Automotive Teller Machines (ATM) will improve on customer service.
In February, this year LgWSC and FNB entered into an agreement, where customers were provided with a platform to pay water bills using FNB VISA.FNB LOGO
This included the installation of swiping machines in all the offices of LgWSC in Central Province.
Ms Mwene said since February, more than K8, 000 had so been paid by customers through FNB.
She said the company had also partnered with Shoprite, where payments would equally be made from.
Ms Mwene, however, said most customers had not been familiar with the arrangement with Shoprite and that it was tricky to pay through Shoprite as the province only had two in Kapiri-Mposhi and Kabwe respectively.
“The benefits of using the VISA card are that you do not need to line up at our headquarters office, so this has made life much easier.
“So far through FNB we have collected over K8, 000 but unfortunately through Shoprite only nine people have paid through them,” she said.
Ms Mwene said LgWSC would soon step up advertisements to sale the new product, taking advantage of local radio stations in Kabwe among other means.
“Those who still want to come and pay direct at our offices, they can still continue,” she said.
