#PAIPAPANO: UPND’s adopted candidate for the Kasenengwa by-election disappears and switches off his phone

DR Faustin Banda, the UPND’s adopted candidate for Kasenengwa Parliamentary by-election has withdrawn his candidature for the seat.UPND Party Secretary General Mr Stephen Katuka has confirmed the development.“We were under a wrong impression that Mr Banda was a stable person, but he has disappeared with campaign materials and money for campaigns,” said Stephen Katuka.The Electoral Commission of Zambia has prescribed Thursday, 6th September, 2018 as the date on which to hold the Parliamentary By-election in Kasenengwa Constituency of Kasenengwa District.The by-election in Kasenengwa Constituency has been necessitated following the death of the incumbent Member of Parliament Ms. Victoria Kalima on 15th June, 2018.The poll will take place from 06:00 hours to 18:00 hours.
